UV-Silo®
allg. Silotec GmbH issue you a 10-year guarantee on its UV-silo®'s. They are fabricated in such a way that no protection against sunlight (UV-rays) is required.
The source material of our UV-silo®'s is KoSa high-strength
polyester yarn. Hoechst AG, the former manufacturer of this
polyester fibre, conducted tests in the early 1970s in the
Frankfurt/Main area under the brand name of TREVIRA-HOCHFEST to
assess its resistance to sunlight and ultra-violet radiation.
The tests showed that the black thread in the yarn is much more
UV-resistant than the white one. The full test results have been
published in the brochure "Technical Information – UV-Resistance of
TREVIRA-HOCHFEST by Hoechst AG“.
The black thread in this special fabric is the most effective in resisting ultra-violet rays in the UV-silo®. In the weave the black thread runs vertically (warp) and the white thread horizontally (woof). This special fabric makes our UV-silo®'s unique.
Furthermore the seams and fabric of our UV-silo®'s are manufactured
to a reliability standard six times higher than other products.
This why we offer a 10-year guarantee on the material.
The construction of our UV-silo®'s means that protective measures
against sunlight are not required. You do not need to darken
windows or lighting panes or apply protective anti-UV paints.
